My boat came with a Racor 200-FG diesel filter. I have no manufacturer's info on when and how to change the element and how to drain water from it. Does anyone know how to reach the manufacturer to get a manual or operating instructions?
Thanks

Re: Racor filters
Ed: You can call West Marine at 1-800-262-8464 and ask the technical service rep. for the telephone number of Racor ( PARKER is the Mfg.) and call them for information and a parts breakdown sheet for your model filter. The filter is easy to take apart and clean inserting a new filter element in the process. You will have to bleed the fuel system of air once you put it all back together. If you do not know when the filter was last changed I would change it now. It should be done every six months or more often if you run alot. It is cheap insurance. Carry spares, One load of bad fuel can ruin several filters.Ed Schmidt wrote: My boat came with a Racor 200-FG diesel filter. Re: Racor filters
Ed... here's your info:
Racor
Box 3208
Modesto, CA 95353
800-344-3286
Carry spares...use the ones with the prefix "T"...this stands for 10 micron, and the Racor rep. told me that's the finest you want on our small diesels. (Practcal Sailor magazine agrees too.)
Good luck! Bob O.
