I am in the market for a Cape Dory Typhoon. I live in Michigan. What is market value of these boats? Please assume average condition. Also, please specify value with or without motor and with or without trailer. Anything else which would help me understand the market value of this boat (especially in the Great Lakes area) would be appreciated. Thanks.

Re: Market Value of Typhoon
Dave,
I recently went through the process of valueing a CD33 in preparation for making an offer. I got the BUC Book Values for boats ranging from 1981 to 1987. I believe that the prices reflect boats equipped with outboards. The prices are as follows:
1981 Typhoon Daysailor: hi=$5,500 lo=$4,750
1981 Typhoon Weekender: hi=$5,850 lo=$5,100
1982 Typhoon Daysailor: hi=$5,700 lo=$4,900
1982 Typhoon Weekender: hi=$5,950 lo=$5,200
1983 Typhoon Daysailor: hi=$6,050 lo=$5,250
1983 Typhoon Weekender: hi=$6,300 lo=$5,500
1984 Typhoon Daysailor: hi=$6,400 lo=$5,500
1984 Typhoon Weekender: hi=$6,700 lo=$5,800
1985 Typhoon Daysailor: hi=$6,800 lo=$5,950
1985 Typhoon Weekender: hi=$7,100 lo=$6,200
1986 Typhoon Senior: hi=$11,100 lo=$9,800
1987 Typhoon Senior: hi=$12,000 lo=$10,500
Hope this helps!
