Carl, the registry is not accurate. It was sold in the last couple of months and is currently in Kingston NY. I was aboard just a couple of weeks ago. Owned by Joseph Drago. Joe is active on Facebook Cape Dory Fans forum and here is a nice picture of him and Resolution from that forum.

Hi All, I've been off the board for the last 6 months, but yesterday I saw the Cape Dory 33 Julie Rose out sailing on Pensacola Bay and thought it would be a good time to get back on and post this "I Spy". My apologies that these photos are not the best, but Julie Rose passed at quite a distance, so they were taken at maximum zoom, and I couldn't really choose my camera angles. Oh well, hope you enjoy anyway!

Our CD22 is finally in the water and we are sailing again, which means I once again have the opportunity to photograph passing boats. Here are some photos I took yesterday of the Cape Dory 28 Sensibility sailing across East Penobscot Bay towards Winter Harbor/Seal Bay.

Great photos as always. That's a real passion you have there Jim. You're an artist.

Nice to see such color on display. Cheerful and fun. Used to see that all the time in the 70s.

Thanks, John! I keep hoping Far Reach will make a trip to Maine so I can get some photos of your lovely boat.

My first boat had a similarly colorful drifter, but it was the 80s not the 70s. Here's a photo:

Hi John,

There is a possibility that I won't be in Maine next summer. My sister and her husband have just made an offer on a power catamaran and have asked the Admiral and me to do the Great Loop with them. (Yes, I know, for a sailing purist like me it is definitely a foray over to The Dark Side.) I'd really like to cruise the Georgian Bay/North Channel area and the Bras D'or Lakes if they decide to take the St. Lawrence route. This is probably my last and best chance to cruise those areas even if it is on a powerboat. I'm not sure if it will happen, and if it does whether they want us along for the whole trip or just parts, but it means that next summer--actually pretty much all of next year--is kind of up in the air. I'll PM you my email address so you can check in with me when your cruise plans are more firm.

Smooth sailing,

Jim

That sounds like a wonderful trip. A lot of fun. If it works out it would be great to have you take pictures. But it's a long way off.

I spy...a Cape Dory 36 ghosting out of Carver Cove, Vinalhaven, Maine in a light morning breeze. She's a cutter going downwind, so does that mean she's sailing wing-and-wing-and-wing?

If you know the name of the boat please chime in...

I spied CD22 Ariel in Fox Islands Thorofare on Monday, August 14th. I was the give-way vessel and passed astern when I saw "Ariel" on the transom. I was too slow with my camera, so I didn't get a photo. Sorry, Jim.

I spy...Hawke in Fox Islands Thorofare on Saturday, June 15.
DSC_9645a.JPG
It's not a great photo, but I was busy taking photos of a schooner when Hawke came by, so I didn't really have time to set up a proper shot.

I'm not on the board very much anymore, but since I photographed a couple Cape Dories over the past few days I thought I'd post.
