Tom, no offense taken, at least from me. I agree, we all enjoy our boats as we can. I'd love to do what John Stone has done, but doubt I'd remove the engine, but kudos to him anyway. And, my wife wonders what I do at my boat so much when I tell,her I didn't take it out! Sometimes I wonder what I do for hours on end!

Tim, just to be clear, the sailmaker reduced the leech only? Not the luff as well? And the sail modification didn't impact performance, etc?

Yes the leech only. That way I did not have to modify or move the gooseneck. As I said we lost approximately 9 square feet out of 167. I sure do not notice any change in performance, although I might loose a race to another 27, but I no longer have to worry about knocking the first mate on the head with the boom. In her eyes that makes me a winner. I suppose I should shorten the topping lift by 9" and the boom vang by 2", but I haven't gotten around to that yet.
