Funny you say that - when I crewed for a blind sailor (in an accessible sailing regatta), she had the best "boat feel" of anyone I can recall.

She kept the boat in the groove by feel, I called the tacks by guessing, and we won two races out of three!

Here's the same boat, a Martin 16, with other sailors from our association:

Try it it's quite easy. Using a lookout ahead sail hard on the wind looking aft or with eyes closed...Seat of the pants sailing...
