replacement curtains

Post by Jim Walsh »

I'd replace my curtains in a heartbeat if any member has the skill to do a professional job and is looking for some business. I checked the East Coast websit and saw no mention of curtains. I presume a phone call is the way to determine if they are still in the curtain business. Has anyone actually seen their product firsthand?

My wife treated our CD28 to a new set of curtains last year. They were from East Coast and are perfect. These folks were the original suppliers to the CD factory and they know the product well. In fact one detail I noticed was that they actually make the sets of curtains slightly different lengths to correspond with the actual height of the headliner at each port (i.e., slightly shorter forward and increasing in length as one moves aft). I had not noticed this in the set originally supplied by the factory. We are more than satisfied, and yes, a phone call was necessary to set up the transaction.

East Coast Embroidery supplied Curtains

Post by Noel Heslop »

Our CD25D Breezy did not have any curtains, so we purchased from East Coast Embroidery, as my first mate and I were in the dark. We just followed the recommendation earlier in this topic from John and others. Thank you all, as it worked out to be an excellent decision.

All done by email from Australia. For a manufacturing cost of US$190 for 6 portholes x2 = 12 curtains. No, we did not know we received 2 for each porthole until they arrived. They fitted like a glove, and we can fully open the portholes, which was a concern until we fitted them and realised the functionality of the CD design (including curtains). Excellent service and quality.

Happy New Year!

Portlight Shades

Post by Jim Cornwell »

Well, here's a business opportunity for someone with the necessary skills who wants a little cottage industry during the recession! I think the vast majority of lights are the same size, if not all, so the setup would be straightforward (like the Screens of Schooner Bay?)

My shades were sun scorched and dry-rotted beyond repair, so replacements are in order. If someone starts this business, I'll sign up!
