Just one thing to add. I renewed my CD 28's documentation when we brought her down to Annapolis last fall. A lot of our Federal machinery gets a pretty rough review (often with justification). In my experience the CG Documentation Center should be a model for how to do things right. All the forms are available on-line. The instructions are clear. But above all the folks you call for help (yes, you do get a real person!)know their business and are helpful. They were invaluable in helping me tell the previous mortgage holder (which institution knew from nothing about its own business!) where to find the appropriate records and how to fill out the necessary forms they had to provide. When I called a week later to see if the bank had managed to submit the right stuff, the guy on the other end actually said, "Oh, I saw your folder in the pile that arrived on my desk yesterday...I should have your certificate in the mail by the close of business today." IT WAS!

>>The reason I couldn't document my folkboat was that the factory (Whitby)had had a fire and the builder's certificates were lost.<<
LIQUIDITY was documented just last year, long after the Cape Dory factory closed. There was never a question about it.
