Over a decade ago when I had my MkII, I fixed the plastic water tank crack with a soldering gun and strips of plastic cut from a gallon water jug.
Just V out the crack and start filling with melted plastic. When its level, I heat welded strips across the crack and put in a final piece in the direction of the crack.
It held for 13 years and was still good when I sold the boat.
I currently have water tanks that are fiberglassed inside the hulls and they are not as nice.
