There isn't anything easier than clearing the cache and it is my recommendation -- that, and making sure that http://www.capedory.org/board/ is a trusted site.

I can't stop myself from crowing that I've never experienced any of these problems with my little "fleet" of Macs. By all accounts, Microsoft products seem to grow more and more problematic with each new incarnation, while the opposite is true of Mac OS 10, which becomes sleeker and more stable with each upgrade. Further, I'd say that if a narrow-minded employer only allows Explorer in the office, thereby depriving a work-weary employee of the curative effects of the CDSOA website, a new workplace is warranted!

I couldn't agree more with Jim. I've had probably 10-15 PC of my own or through world over the many years in corporate America and they all get slower over time until they either die or just run so slow that you want to kill them. I have a Mac Mini, I-Mac and Macbook air they they all run just as fast as the day that I got them. The Mini is almost 10 years old now.

Jim: Like several (perhaps many) on this board I came to the world of computers late in my career. I spent most of my adult life with one of those "alphabet soap" federal gov't agencies. Typewriters, hand written notes, burn barrels for paper, typewriter ribbon, etc. They bought DELL by the hundreds of thousands and installed Microsoft. I reluctantly attended "training sessions" kicking and screaming. So called experts explained the security virtues of a computer. How did that work out :?:

I never had a chance to learn Apple, Mac, etc. I am now "addicted" to a DELL and too old to change. There are days (some when I am actually sober) that I swear I'm gonna throw my computer and my cell phone in the pool (just to see if they float of course). I long for the days of B & W TVs, rotary dial phones, vinyl record players (the music sounds better; I don't give a damn what you say :!: ), baseball without steroids, Johnny Unitas, ice fishing with tip ups, girls who played hard to get and meant it, being able to say "Merry Christmas" and "Happy Hanukkah" without fear of being politically incorrect. My time has passed. I only hope the next generation does a better job of preserving what matters.
Fair winds,

Roberto

Roberto: You sound like someone rooted in tradition who should consider owning a sailboat - maybe a classic beauty like a Cape Dory. But, before you go off to get oakum and a caulking iron for her, take time to visit the nearest Mac Store and let one of the tee-shirted geniuses take you for a shakedown cruise. You'll simply be amazed at how easy the transition is! Jim.

Roberto,
What you said. Especially the part about vinyl sounding better.

I'd like to write more but I need to get back to adding some additional marks to my sounding line. :)
