I know I said in an earlier post that I wouldn't be doing any fine dining but since I have a crewman I decided to splurge on the groceries

Replacement hardware can be found here: http://search.defender.com/?Action=3&Pa ... b727c40b1c (Scroll down.)

I replaced a floor plate and use the original posts, but it seems easy enough to keep the table top and replace whatever else needs replacing.

They look the same as the ones That the RV store (Camping World). The diameter is different , mine are less than 2", These are 2-1/4". I could change it all.The plates or sockets on my boat seem much heavier duty..

I only ordered the deck plate, which seems the same quality and heft as the one it replaced. (Same pattern for the holes, too!)

JD,

You may not be thinking correctly about the table. You will probably want to leave it stowed most of the time. However, someday you will be cruising, perhaps anchored or tied to the dock and the weather will not favor dining on deck. Those are the times when set up the table and have your coffee for breakfast or soup for dinner while sitting at the cabin table. It will also make a good place to sit and update the logbook.

Save the table top. Find a leg that works for you. I am sure they are out there. Someday, you'll be glad you have a cabin table!

BTW, our original pressurized alcohol stove still works great! Lighting it requires the "Rule of Fives" but that is another thread for another time.

Fair winds!

I only stow the cabin table for the winter. Because it's there, I use it.

It interferes with nothing except it's a bit awkward to access port side storage spaces.

The space between the supporting posts is great for the correct size soft-sided cooler, which is easily lashed in place. Use for more cold storage or just as a convenient extra storage spot when you're cruising.

"Leoma" update 12/27/17

Post by JD-MDR »

I finally got the legs. From a muffler shop. 2" muffler pipe flared out fit perfectly. I see why the table is meant to be stowed. It's not very secure and especially the folding half. I will figure a way to stiffen it .Since I am singlehanding I would like to keep it out. I got my club boom back and now everything is done on the foredeck.Plenty of clearence from the windlass and also the chain howse.. hole was only about 1-1/2" off. I got two coats primer and one coat paint I ordered more paint. I put two coats around the masking tape lines so I can remove all the tape then I will roll the rest when the paint comes. New sails and canvass soon. a few months.

Coming along nicely. It's also nice to see a boat in the water without ice and snow embellishing the topsides :D

Thanks Jim, 83 degrees today. The fire is 88% contained and the air is clean. It's terrible 285,000 acres and 800 homes destroyed. When I go back to the boat I'm gonna get some photos of the table set up. I can't believe this is Cape Dory engineering. It seems ridiculous.
