I took a splurge last year and added a Torqueedo to my CD 28 - part as a back-up to the Volvo MD7A (which I finally got sorted out shortly after adding the TC2 ) - so now I use for a aux. to push against the tide and sometimes I go "solo" with the TC2 and "quietly" leave the dock - it runs on two large batteries that I mounted under the cockpit, it has 2-3 hours running time (haven't pushed it to find out). It has a lot of thrust via the large plastic propeller.
I attached it with a removable mount - but seldom remove it from the boat - as much as I am not a fan of OB's hanging off the transom - this does not look too bad and gets a lot of questions & comments from folks - had it about 8 months and no problems to date - the prop is light and fragile (already chipped it) - so get an extra b/4 you need it - Warren
