Diapensia - The Arctic Flower - Southing

Diapensia got off its butt at the end of March with an addition of an AirBreeze wind generator after being impressed with the consistency of the wind at Boot Key. We sailed past Sombrero Reef at 1300 and into the Stream landing at South Riding Rock at 0900, a 19 hour transit to the banks. We took aim at Russell Beacon, the NWShoals and then down the Northwest Channel to Morgan's Bluff where we cleared customs and played dominoes. In the last few weeks we've played in Norman's Cay, Exuma Park and in Staniel Key. Weather has been outstanding and the clear water sparkling. We may south further to Great Guana Cay and Black Point settlement, but, then, with mixed feelings, we must set our course to Man O War Cay in the Abaccos and Beaufort, New Bedford, Portland and Lubec, landing June 1. Hope to see some of you this summer in Passamaquoddy Bay. Jimmy
