I removed the Armada(similar to cetol) finish off of most of my boat and have been switching to Epiphanes Woodfinish Gloss. It does look good, but it does not stand up better to UV then any other varnish. After 4 months now in the tropics all the varnish needs serious attension. Up north this would not be as much of a problem though. I will add another 6 or 7 coats to everything and see how much longer it goes, but I suspect I may become a silver teak convert.
Currently in Virgin Gorda, crossing to St. Martin tommorow night, life is good.
Bright work

schooner varnish is one of the best, i have been using it for around 15 years and it last allot longer then others.
fresh water you can go 2 to 3 years with out doing it again.
salt water you only have to do it ever 18 months.
there is only one or two that can go past 20 months and it cost three or four times the price.
