The fireboat was done in a different style because it has clear lines
and bright colors. I also painted a tugboat in the same manner (sold).

Yes I know the work of Rueven Tam. Rather abstract and I always thought
that in his paintings of Maine he did not leave Hawahi very far from his mind.

Myself and my Picture Naming Consultant (wife) have been trying to
think up a new name for Slick because of the negative association with
"oil slick". The dark areas were not intended to be oil but occur when one
looks down into deep water. The buoy is in my mind, the last buoy to be
passed when heading out. Maybe "Bay Buoy" or "The Last Buoy" (a bit
overdramatic). Any ideas?

I'd be delighted to meet you there. Foe sure I will be around on the first day
2nd and and the reception on the 9th.

Mike,

I'll just say that I enjoyed looking at your work quite a bit. They make me want to take a seat on shore or on the beach sand and just look out on the actual seascape. They gave me a good feeling during this drab, lifeless winter.

Thanks!

Mike - I hope you keep that site up. Your paintings are stunning, evocative of a great deal, and the variety of your impressionist styles is really delightful.

I see echoes of JMW Turner and Monet in there from time to time :)

Thanks very much for sharing.

Mike: I spent some time last year visiting your website when you posted back then.
I want to pass on the website of a former roomate who had a PhD in Biochemistry and gave it all up to do art in 1973. I thought of him
and both your love of painting. http://www.widhu-art.com/index.htm
I want to pass on a book suggestion for Carter B about Bach's meeting with Frederick the Great and the creation of the Musical Offering.
EVENING IN THE PALACE OF REASON newly released by author James Gaines a magnificient story telling.

Sun Treader! Now that's a great piece! Poor Carl Ruggles. He'll never get his due.

Thank you for the pointer toward the book; I'll pick it up.

Loved Anchor Lights

Post by Ed Haley »

Enjoyed your watercolors especially Anchor Lights. The scene is reminiscent of a particular anchorage I like along the waters of the Bay of Quinte near the northern edge of Lake Ontario. Simply beautiful.
