Bandolera II rafted up with friends for a lazy weekend off the ICW by Ft. Lauderdale. It was blowing too hard on the bay, so we stayed put.

"The open Typhoon"

Post by Jim Davis »

My thanks to Russell for posting his photos of my wifes Typhoon Day Sailer. A little background. The boat is a 75 boat that had spent the previous ten years unused on a lift. Isabel came through and destroyed the pier. Sandy saw an ad in the local paper "CD Typhoon for sale, donation to charity......." To keep the story short, she got the boat.

<img width="540" src="http://ladypauline.com/typhoon/PB030021.JPG">

For Christmas, Sandy received new sails and outboard. The next spring the boat was taken to Caso Rio Marina where she did a complete restoration. This photo is with the boat coated with epoxy/microballoon to fair the entire hull.

<img width="540" src="http://ladypauline.com/typhoon/P4220024.JPG">

After six weeks of working on the boat it was ready to launch.

<img width="540" src="http://ladypauline.com/typhoon/P5210085.JPG">

And sail home.

<img width="540" src="http://ladypauline.com/typhoon/P5210116.JPG">

While this is a short story, the full details of the job will be in the March, 2006 Good Old Boat.

When attending sailing events other than Cape Dory Rendezvous, other boats just dont know us. So that's why we carry the CDSOA membership card. It shows that we are part of a nation wide organization of fellow Cape Dory boats, so don't leave home without that little card.

Mahalo Launch 2005

Post by bottomscraper »

Mahalo was launched this past Friday by Brownell using the ramp in Mattapoisett MA. John Edwards owner of a Cape Dory 28 Flybridge happened to be there and took some pictures and was kind enough to send them to us. Here is one and links to others:

Post by Judy »

I just wanted to say how breathtaking all of the photos were.
Also, I didn't realise that there is a Cape Dory Calendar.
Can someone inform me how I would order one? Is it from the CD association?
Thanks Judy

If anyone were to add it up, thats over 94 feet of Cape Dory (CD32, CD330, CD27). At the same Club and on the same dock, too.
Not bad, eh?

Went out sailing on sunday, nice wind for a breif period, also a lot of time with spotty wind.

My decks needed to be washed, so I tried to let the sea do it:

Saw a CD25 out there, didnt catch the name, this was directly north of the chesapeake bay bridge. If the boat belongs to someone on the board, contact me and I can give you a full size image of your boat. She looked good.

Hung Over Feline!

Post by Warren Kaplan »

This cat tried very hard to finish all the Tecate in the cockpit of my friend's Hans Christian 38. All he got for his efforts was a heavy duty hangover! I'm sure it was fun until then!!
