It has been awhile since I've posted anything but wanted to let everyone know we are restoring our Ty, KnoTy Boy, in time for the SBC Rally in May. We have removed all the teak, prepared the bottom and hull for paint. We have decided to have the hull and topsides professionally imron'd so she will look her best for the race.
We will post pictures soon.

Typhoon Restoring
Primarily because our painter only uses Imron. Our first choice was Awlgrip.

Nancy,
I only inquired as I used this paint many years ago on a few projects and was unhappy with it. Always had a problem no matter how fastidious I was. Awlgrip can be difficult also but Imron was a real pain in the ass. Their color selection was limited also, perhaps it has been improved. I'm not a professional painter but as general contractor have sprayed all kinds of paint to all types of projects over 30 years and found this product one of the most difficult to work with.
There area number 2 part paints that are comparable and much easier to work with. Kinda surprised me to see Imron mentioned.
I'm sure your guy will do a good job.
Regards
