I am removing the bottom paint from my Typhoon and have found a scribed boot stripe. Was this done at the factory? I have never seen the boat in the water, should I trust the scribe marks?
Thanks,
Trevor

Scribed Boot Stripe
Trevor,
That's a tough call to make.
Since you found it under bottom paint, it suggests that it was a previously used boot stripe that , for whatever reason, was raised higher.
My way of thinking is that there is a very good chance that the scribed old boot stripe is the factory original. There would be very little, if any, harm done if you used the old scribed stripe for a season, see how it works out.
Try to make subtle marks where the present waterline is now, in case you want to revert back to it at a later date.
Good luck
