Currently own a Typhoon 19 and considering moving up to a 22 does anyone have opinions of the CD22, CD22D, vs CD Typhoon Senior.
The majority of use will be daysailing with occasional short over nights. I really like the feel and handle of the Typhoon 19 are any of these boats similar different etc. Your opinions would be appreciated.

CD22/D vs Senior Typhoon

Re: CD22/D vs Senior Typhoon
You can't go wrong with the Typhoon Senior. I've owned hull #12 since 85. Great boat. The 22D is also a beauty. If price doesn't factor in, I'd just buy the hull that is in the best shape.

Re: CD22/D vs Senior Typhoon
I have owned a Typhoon, CD25 and presently own a CD10, CD22, and CD31. You can see I'm hooked on Cape Dories. The Typhoon was certainly a remarkable little boat, especially for racing. The lack of accommodations drove me to a CD25. While I enjoyed this boat and did some extended trailer cruising, it seemed more tender and also quite cramped below. The CD22 is smaller than the CD25, but the headroom below is substantially better. I can even sit up tall in the V berth under the deck hatch. The layout with the center galley and double quarter berths make it seem much larger than the CD25. The bronze opening ports are a dream come true for me since neither of the last boats had them. I find the sailing qualities of the CD22 more like the Typhoon, only larger in feel. Also, I could not stand the outboard hanging on the transom any longer so created my own CD22/D after many hours of work. I installed a Yanmar single cylinder 1GM10 diesel, installed dual batteries, and she now feels like a miniyacht. Having great fun on a high Colorado lake. I understand the CD22 and the Typhoon senior use the same hull, so should feel about the same sailing, although the senior has a 7/8 rig while the CD22 has a full rig.Robert Fisher wrote: Currently own a Typhoon 19 and considering moving up to a 22 does anyone have opinions of the CD22, CD22D, vs CD Typhoon Senior.
