This bulletin board, hosted by the CDSOA, Inc., is the on-line meeting place for all Cape Dory owners and groups. We welcome everyone's questions, answers and comments about Cape Dory sailboat
Oh oh, I had another senior moment. I made another boo boo. A day or two ago we were talking about whether the mast is up or down during winter storage. I made a statement that a travellift couldn't transport a sailboat with the mast in place.
I first realized my error when I read Mark Yashinsky's post. My realization was farther reinforced when I received two PMs from caring readers to notify me of my mistake. Thanks.
I don't know what I was thinking about when I wrote that. I know better than that.
No worries, John! I would bet it's the same ailment I suffer from...'Oldtimerz'. Was thinking one time of maybe writing up a 'How to Cope with Oldtimerz' book, but I couldn't remember where I had put the Big Chief and the #2...or maybe the whole thing just came to mind now? Now where was I? heh

Got a tick bite with the bulls eye;
Just had a molar pulled;
Bird poop has ruined my main sail cover,
and
I put a quart of oil down the radiator fill tank.
Hey, but the flip side is that my grandchildren are coming for a visit!
My Mom died from complications of Alzheimers, a horrible disease. Most of her sisters suffered as well; it's in that side of our family so my frequent 'senior moments' carry a special fear for me. But Mom had a great sense of humor and wouldn't mind me saying that "the one benefit of Alzheimers is that you get to meet so many new people".

Reef early and often. It's easier to shake out a reef when one is bored than it is to tuck one in when one is scared.
