Need CD 28 Mast

Now that I have a '77 CD 28' Sloop, I have to make it sea worthy. The crack (5" vertical) at the base of the mast is my largest current obstacle.

I am leary about repairs and believe a good new/used mast is the best path. Any suggestions/recommendations/sources are much appreciated.

In addition, any good sources for info on repairing delamination (books, mags, etc.) are required. I would like to do the work myself.

You can also try <a href="http://www.rigrite.com/spartan/cd4_mast.html">Rig-Rite Inc.</a> for a new spar for your CD28. Rig-Rite is the parent company of Spartan Spars who manufactured many of the Cape Dorys' original masts.

Suggest you don't buy anything from RigRite. They are a middle man and charge much more than a manufacturer.Try Dwyer Aluminum Mast Co. 203-484 0419 or www.csiworld.com They make what rigriye sells at a lot less. I bought a mast step for a CD25 from Dwyer at 40% less than RigRite and I would have had to wait until RigRite received it from Dwyer.
