Marinas South FL.

Post by Wolf von Kalben »

I plan to trail my CD22 south to Florida - Atlantic Side sometime in November. Any suggested Marinas to use as a home base and store the car and trailer at a reasonable cost while I cruise these waters?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

If you make it all the way down to Miami, Crandon Marina in Key Biscayne is wonderful. From there you can cruise the great Biscayne and Florida bay, the upper and middle keys, and if you have the time, all the way down to Key West. Going down on the inside is beautiful, more adventurous on the outside (of the bay) down Hawk Channel on the Atlantic side. If you need help, we can put in a word for you with our dockmaster - John. There are several other Cape Dorys around the area, including mine CD-33 Bandolera. You can also park and store your car there. Regards

Why not bring your self down to the lower Keys? There's a great, funky marina on Little torch Key, Dolphin Reosrt & Marina...check it out. Their site is at www.dolphinresort.com. I'm in Key West, where I keep my CD Ty #1227. There are about 5 Tys here. Let us know if you make it down to the Keys. As a native, I can tell you its like night and day compared with even Miami..it's just a different experience.
Good luck.
