During the survey, the Tach and the water temp gauges read higher than than the surveyor's instruments. Is this fairly common, with perhaps a common fix (sender or gauge or both)? I assume that the tach is cable-driven and might require replacement of the whole thing. I'll need to check and make sure.
Also, I discovered that the battery meter also reads high (> +16v) when my handheld shows a nice normal 12.6v. Maybe I can stick a potentiometer in there and calibrate the gauge to the system.
What do you-all think?

I should record the running temprature - it may just be 180. I took the surveyor's word as gospel. He used an IR temp device aimed at the engine sensor.
If the tach is electronic, there may be a means of calibrating it.
