Having made the decision to convert our CD25 to headsail furling we would appreciate suggestions as to what sail size to carry on this unit. (Great Lakes cruising mainly, no formal racing). How much can we usefully expect to be able to reduce sail area? We now have a 155 genoa and a 100% main which are in decent but not perfect shape. Would we be significantly better off to purchase a new headsail, made to suit the furler?
Thanks

Re: Furlers
We converted our 150 genoa on a CD25 last year to furler with excellent results. It is possible to reduce sail to handkerchief size if you want to.We used a kit from Sailrite with luff tape and foam backer. Some sewing, hand and machine but not difficult.Easily followed directions come with kit.Took us weekend to complete.CDI #FF4 furler works well and reliably. Also, had the sail reresined, that put the snap back in a 10 year old gennie.Good sailing.RFMHaving made the decision to convert our CD25 to headsail furling we would appreciate suggestions as to what sail size to carry on this unit.
