The questions about the engine (earlier post) have been resolved and the next hurdle in the purchase process is dealing (transferring funds and title, etc.) with the absentee owner. The boat is located and titled Florida but the owner is not. I know about escrow services but want to ask the group for any thoughts, suggestions, recommendations you might have in this area. Thanks a bunch.

Do you have a lawyer?
Many lawyers will agree to be an escrow agent for various deals, assuming you already have some business relationship. An escrow agent should be neutral, so your personal lawyer may not be a good choice, but if you already have a lawyer, he probably has a buddy who will do it for a modest or no fee.
Where is your seller located?

As I remember, BoatUS also offers escrow and other services for boat purchases.
