Mounting a Windex on a TY

Post by vtsailor »

Does anyone here have experience/advice on mounting a Windex to a Typhoon mast? The mounting bracket seems to have several options, but what is the BEST approach for attaching?
Many Thanks!

i installed mine by drilling and tapping a hole in the top of the masthead crane where the topping lift attaches. last item to be installed before the mast is raised

Ty Mast

Post by mrudman850 »

Hi,

how difficult is it to unstep the Ty mast? We acquired our '78 Weekender in May with the mast up. Got to install protectors on the ends of the spreaders to preserve our genoa and thought I'd put a Windex on as well. Can it be done while on the water or do I wait until the end of the season? This is our first sailboat. Thanks.

Easy to do with two people, can be done in the water. Search on "stepping typhoon mast"
