Very nice site, good pics and ideas.

However, I can't see the videos - just get broken QuickTime links.

Ok now you've done it...

...if the Admiral gets a whiff of that site, I'll NEVER get any rest from boat projects!!!

Seriously, it's a great site, and you've given me a bunch of new ideas. I haven't hit the entire site but haven't found any glitches so far.

Best regards,

Bill

quicktime movies

Post by patturner »

I put the site together on a Mac and perhaps that has something to do with it. I don't know how to put up a different kind of movie file, but I'll check it out.

Movie clips look good here

Ran two (all I saw) and they worked fine. Using Windows XP and quicktime for windows plugin for Firefox.

On the "Pats Photos" page, none of the links (presumably to large images from the thumbnails) work. Some beautiful work there, Pat, even in thumbnail size.

I've got a 4x5 and a 6x6 forlornly gathering dust in the closet, and I'm wondering if I'm ever going to set the darkroom up again. I may try shooting B&W, then scanning it in...but I gotta admit there are lotsa advantages to the digital, and the resolution on those little CCD's is unbelievable. When I can get a 16x20 that looks like a silver print that came from 4x5 film, I'm converted. And I don't think it's that far off.

Pat,

The site looks good. She's a beauty!

I had no problem viewing the Quicktime movies with my PC.

Very Nice

I really like that cat. He(or she) looks so proud on that boat and so should you. I like what you did with the boat.

Quicktime links were broken and did not work for me either, however.

Pat,

Your boat is outta hand gorgeous. Here's my favorite parts in no particular order:

-The windvane

-The rope clutches on the boom

-Reefing bag

-Sterling Hayden quote (makes me feel better about being 33 and going into 20k debt for a boat)

-Elvie, lookin' all salty and short hair to boot

-Rear seats

-Nav station

The pictures are all really clear, high quality and all load fast for me, once the page of thumbnails is fully loaded. The movies also work fine.

The home page takes over ten seconds to load after multiple loads since yesterday. Something about the formatting with the main picture or something. Once it does load, it is very attractive and easy to navigate. I'm running Win 2000 with 2Mbps range bandwidth.

What's the buss bar in the cockpit locker?

Anyway, the boat is totally fly. I'm sure you think warm thoughts of her often.
