I just bought CD 25 # 601. There is some confusion, however, as to what year it was built. The Hull ID number ends in 2m780, or it might be 2m78D. It's not clear at all. The previous owner was told the boat was a '78, but he started to wonder after we looked at the number closely. Does anyone have a boat built in '78 or '80 and know where #601 falls in the chronology?

You fail to mention whether it is a Diesel or an Outboard. Depending on which, the last position should be an Alpha 'O' or 'D'. I'm betting it is a 1978 model.eric wrote: I just bought CD 25 # 601. My CD25 has a date stamped inside the lazarette; 1-31-77 which is the date it was built (according to previous owner). Since my hull # is 522 and according to CD25 specs on this website approx. 845 were made over a nine year period. This (if my math is correct) would make your boat most likely a 78, maybe a 79 model. Since your numbers say 78 that's my guess as to year also.

I have CD-25 hull #625, and it is a 1978. The last few digits of the transom # are M78E. I'm guessing yours isn't too far off. My guess for your boat is a 1978.
