Gulf Coat Fleet cruise to Bayland

Post by jdhunter »

I just left the rest of the fleet back at the Bayland Marina last night and the party was just beginning. It looked to be six boats. The smallest being "Adoryable" a CD22 up to a couple of CD30s. Everyone was having a great time, good friends and good drinks. Every boat seemed to have a different part of the dinner. If you wanted snacks, you went to one boat. If you wanted chicken, you went to another boat. The boat with salad offered delivery. It was fun for all.

I drove instead of sailing my Typhoon. (Plug in any excuse you want) I wish I had sailed. The wind was fantastic for sailing at about 15 knots. The CD22 even flew a spinnaker for a short distance. Every face had a smile as they motored into the marina to find a slip.

I'm sure they are all heading back into the bay for the return sail to Clear Lake this morning.

I want to thank the rest of the fleet for their generosity to this fellow CD sailor who decided to leave his boat on the trailer at home.

Now, hopefully as the fleet returns home, each skipper can log part of their adventure for us to read here.

Happy sailing,

J Hunter

We might have to be patient with the rest of the fleet to give their stories. The weather was so perfect for sailing, they might still be out there.
