Portlight Frames

I just removed the old portlights from my boat, and they were held in by a system using just a rubber gasket and what appears to be automotive trim, a system which I am not eager to reuse. However, because of this, these windows lack a proper wooden frame. I am willing to use either wooden or aluminum frames, but I don't know where to buy just aluminum frames and lack the know-how to fashion frames myself. Can only point me to a site or explain how to make my own window frames out of wood? Thanks.
