The time has come for my FINAL update and summary for The Cape Dory Rendezvous in Onset Massachusetts on July 17 - 18.
Moorings / Slips
----------------------
The Yacht club has confirmed 25 moorings are waiting for us and several slips have been reserved. I shall be operating the PIYC launch (workboat) during the Saturday and Sunday events should anyone require launch service. PIYC will be having their weekly dinner at the club on Friday evening and they have extended an invitation for anyone arriving on Friday to join them. Please let me know of any interest to accept their kind offer. They will be providing me with the tentative menu and costs if anyone is interested.
I have had several folks ask about mooring availability in Onset for the week proceeding and after the July 17/18 Rendezvous. PIYC has provided a weekly rate of $75.00 for those boats, mine included, who are coming up the weekend prior to the event. Please let me know if you are interested in securing a weekly mooring so I can place you directly in touch with the PIYC Dock Master.
Fees - Mooring / Slips : Moorings are $15.00 per night and slips are $1.00 per foot/night (+water and electric), made payable to PIYC. PIYC will allow rafting of up to 2 of the smaller boats (22', 25' 27') at no additional charge if you are traveling with another vessel and wish to share the expense. We will not be rafting the larger boats (28', 30' 33' 36') under the slight chance of a big blow.
Group Sail
------------------
Our tentative timetable is for a group sail from approximately 9:30am - 4:30pm on Saturday, with a 1
hour anchoring for lunch (you supply your own). Be sure to bring your cameras as 30 CD in full sail will be a wonderful sight. A slightly longer route can be established for those looking to extend the sail or for our CD power vessel owners. A captain's meeting is scheduled following the Saturday morning breakfast. Charts of the route will be available for those requiring them.
Catering
-------------
The caterer has indicated that he can meet most special dietary requirements, given sufficient advanced notice. If you have any special needs please let me know at the time of menu selection.
Food - Saturday and/or Sunday Breakfast $5.50 per person for each meal, Saturday Dinner $9.50 per person (cash bar). Please include your choice of dinner entree with payment check (Chicken, Portuguese Sausage, Beef Kabob). Dinner will also include a BBQ Hamburger and Hot Dog per person. Food checks are made payable to "Chris Reinke".
Extra Crew
---------------
We have several folks who will be joining us via land (planes, trains and automobiles) who would like to join the group for the days sailing on Saturday. Please let me know if you anticipate having any space available for extra rail meat (crew). Several folks who have land accomodations would rather find a free bunk to stay on a CD. Please let me know if you have a spare bunk and would enjoy a guest.
Door Prizes
----------------
We have been very fortunate to receive several gifts from the folks at Good Old Boat magazine. The gifts include several back issues of their publication, plus two one year subscriptions.
