Typhoon in the snow

Post by Dick Villamil »

:D Check out the current issue of Good Old Boat - there is a nice photo of a Ty on jack stands in the snow in Scituate Mass. Although this makes a nice image I feel better covering my Ty to keep the frost wedging action out of the toe rail and other places where many years of ice expansion could cause fitting failure and leaks to develop. Also if the snow accumulates and fills the scuppers with frozen water aka ICE - the cockpit might also have expanding ice causing some fiberglass cracking. Of course boat owners in more southerly climes than Vermont need not worry about this!
