What a ride we had yesterday. The breeze was about 8 - 10 kts with temperature in the low 60s.
The new Kappa Main is fantastic. We have some riging issues but we knew that prior to going out. Once we sailed away from the dock she gathered speed like she couldn't believe she was actually sailing!
We sailed most of the day maintaining an average of 4 kts. I looked at the GPS once and couldn't believe my eyes when we hit 5.8 for a nanosecond. She is so responsive that we hated to come in. We broke the old original & tired mainsheet block but we were able to decide where to mount some cam cleats on the coachtop.
We are increasing the purchase to the mainsheet, and adding purchase to the cunningham, boomvang and outhaul.

One of our deck buddies is bringing is signaling cannon to the lake when we decide on our date for the naming ceremony. That will be a blast!

Don't you believe it for a minute. Everybody is racing, they just will not admit it if you pass them. I have a very fond memory of running up on and then passing a much larger boat with all sails set while sailing our Typhoon. We had gone in late and had a very clean bottom and we had our big gennoa up, they were towing a dinghy. Aside from that it was a fair race. We gave the usual casual wave (while hiding our glee) which they returned as we sailed on by. As we pulled steadily away there was a great deal of tweaking of lines on the other boat. none of this did any good to reel us in and it just made it all the sweeter, Steve.
