Junonia (1987 CD 28 Open) has a 210 HP Cummins, which replaced the original
Volvo several years ago (done by a previous owner). So far, the Cummins
has not shown any of the symptoms described on the site you referenced.
I agree that replacing the engine seems a rather drastic measure, but apparently the Volvo became a basket case through neglect on the part of Junonia's original owner...

So far no indication of problems on my CD 30 FB. It was built in 1990 and has been in salt water ever since. 1250 hours on the engines. Last time the engine guy had it, he said that a number of drain plugs were corroded and I need to replace the zincs more often. But the exhaust is OK so far.
