Could someone please give me some details on stepping the mast on a Typhoon? We put the mast on the mast step with the pin in the "slot". The problem was that we could not merely walk the mast up (vertical) without the bottom rear portion of the foot of the mast getting stuck. It seemed like we would need to either remove the pin or force it. I thought this would be a smooth operation.
What did I do wrong?

Typhoon mast stepping ?

Re: Typhoon mast stepping ?
If I remember correctly, the mast has to be tilted up quite a bit before trying to engage the pin.

I have not had your problem with my 1977 Weekender. The foot of the mast is tapered up from the front to the back thus allowing the mast to be set in horizontal and I just walk it up vertical.
Good sailing
