Cape Dories in movies

Post by Bob L »

Ok, so I was watching "Off the Map" tonight with some sailing friends, and about 3/4 through the movie a CD 27 (I think...it might have been a 25D) shows up. I bet that's the only movie a Cape Dory is in. Anyone know for sure??

Well, it has nothing to do with sailing, taking place in New Mexico. Here's the imdb page on the movie.

CD in Movies

I too saw the picture aways back in the theater. Enjoyed the film even more than I already was when the (what I believe to be) a CD 25D came driving into the scene.

If you go to the URL http://www.offthemapmovie.com and click on the "silent" clip trailer - you'll see how a Cape Dory manages to "sail" into a scene in New Mexico.

Dorage

There appears to be a dorade on the portside. If that is the case, wouldn't that make it a 27? (assuming that as PO hadn't altered the coachtop?)
