Posting twice.

Post by Rperlot »

I am reminded every day at work of the many reasons I should feel like an idiot. But when I come home, I don't want to be reminded during my leisure activity of reviewing this board. I can't seem to post just once to this site.

My first post on reply doesn't appear to do anything. No confirmation message. So after a couple minutes, I click "post reply" again. This time it hangs my browser. So I have to kill the process. When I come back in, there's that stupid RPerlot posting twice again. And he's such a windbag!! I ask, what is his problem?!

Why is this only posted once? Figure out what you did differently.

Self control and leap of faith

This time, I just put trust in the logic of trial and error experience.

I hit post once. Then copied my message into the clip board and went back to the board to see if it was there. Viola!

But I'm still a little uneasy about not getting a response page at the first post. So I think the solution of copying the message to the clipboard before leaving the post page is going to be routine for me.

I haven't tried the test routine of trying to preview before submission. Maybe there is a bug.

What browser are you using? I tend to find that Firefox does the best job but that could just be me.
In the bleak midwinter Frosty wind made moan, Earth stood hard as iron, Water like a stone; Snow had fallen, snow on snow, Snow on snow, In the bleak midwinter, Long ago.

I haven't thought to try something else. I have assumed it is a server side issue as the server has to dish out the response. But since I haven't been getting and "me too" responses, I will have to look at my computer.

I occasionally have the same problem of double posting...it seems to happen more when I use the spell check before hitting the submit button

It's not the spell check as I thought...after posting there are two ways to return to the message board. use the "return to message board" button OR use the back arrows on my browser. If I use the back arrows, I'm OK...but when I use the "return to message board" button, I get the double posting
