I don't have that particular unit but I do have a Lokata Watchman on board. It works great. It will awake you out of a sound sleep, it has adjustable sensitivity, can be removed from its base and can be hand held, can be used with headphones, has visual alarm and sensitivity sensors as well. Antenna unit is mounted inside and as high as possible in the cabin. I don't know if its made anymore. Contact Kenyon Marine.
I've seen a review or two on the C.A.R.D unit and they have been very positive reviews.

Don't have one, but had a conversation with a guy that had one a few years back. He was very pleased with the system because it used so little power, something like 0.1 or 0.2 amps, and provided directional information to the source. Once the CARD system sounded, he would crank up his radar and track the vessel.

My recollection is that the system worked well, and that he had been using it for a few years. The low power consumption of the unit was abundantly praised.
