I have a Cape Dory 24' trawler. It was built in 1983, and I have hull #6. If you will check back through "older" messages on this site, you will find my description of the boat, my very favorable reactions to it, and a request to share information about the boat with other owners. I bought the boat about 18 months ago. It had a new Westerbeke 30hp as of 1995, and I have the "custom" version with the sail rig, camper top for the aft cockpit, boarding ladder, etc.
It is a fine boat!

I was a small boat sailor who got too much sun over the years so the pilot house steering position is great, and I am getting more familiar and at ease with a single-screw inboard engine, which represents quite a challenge after outboard auxiliary power on a sailboat.

Check for my earlier statement at this site. I would be happy to answer any further questions you might have. You can reach me through this site, which I check every so often, or you can email me at the following: ronstyle@ufl.edu. I hope to hear from you. Ronald H. Carpenter
