Rig-Rite still not back to normal

Post by Paul Clayton »

I called Rig-Rite last Friday, left an order with the answering service which they said they would fax in. I was to expect a call from someone at Rig-Rite to get credit card info, though the answering service couldn't tell me when. Six days later I have heard nothing and must assume they never got my order or can't fill it. Hopefully I can find the parts elsewhere or have them made.

From the looks of their on-line catalog, they had a fine selection of parts and a good knowledge of what fit where. I hope they can make a recovery.

Paul,

I think the trick with Rig Rite is to fax them the order (with your credit card number) using their downloadable form. I placed an order earlier this month using this approach and I got shockingly fast service.

Maybe give that a shot before giving up on them.

Rig Rite Problems/ steaming/foredeck light for CD 25

Post by fwbouf »

I have been trying to obtain a new steaming light/foredeck light for a CD 25 from Rig Rite for the past three months. Faxed order forms with or without credit card numbers seem to vanish. The lady at the telephone number tells me to keep trying....apparently there is no way to talk to a real person in the order/shipping department.

Does anyone know of an alternative supplier for a replacement steaming/foredeck light for a CD 25 ?

It seems as if Rig-Rite has found a way to do away with the worst part of being in business; dealing with customers.
I can't think what they are thinking but if it was me I would at least get a working cell phone.

Anyway I found a Steaming masthead light at a flea market. It was some brand I did not know and it was made of hard black plastic. It works well. I would just go find one anywhere. Bacon Sails in Annapolis is where I would start but there are alll kinds of swap meet and flea market type things going on between Annapolis and Solomons.

I'm not sure what your original Steaming light looks like but my original was made of cheap gray plastic and corroded metal. I would not want to wait three months for that.
