I received a message tonight from a friend regarding a fire aboard, which nearly destroyed the boat. The fire was started by spontaneous cumbustion of rags used to apply tung oil to teak. The boat in question couldn't possibly have a much teak as any CD so I thought the warning should be posted.
Don't store oil soaked rags in a pile. If you must store them, spread them out, ventilate, use an air tight metal container, wash them with soap before storage.
Save the Cape Dories!!
