I finally got a trailer for my Ty . I decided to go with Trailer-Sailor.Com out of Georgia.
Several logistical issues including several weeks underway on my ship and a last minute trip to South Africa (Mr. Vigor, South Africa is as beautiful as you described in your book, I can't wait to go back and see more) prevented me from picking it up personally, so I can't attest to how it tows. However, thanks to the flexibility of the makers and a very helpful father-in-law it arrived last weekend.
Looking it over today (after 27-hours on planes and in airports) leads me to believe that I made the right decision going with them.
Hauling out tomorrow at a local boat yard with a travel lift. I got the extendable tongue, but decided that a travel-lift was the best choice the first time around since I got pads vice bunks. I'll let everyone know how it goes and try to get some photos of the evolution. Right now though, I can recommend these guys, the built a quality product for a fair price...

Thoughts after the haul out
So far I'm pretty happy with the new trailer...of course I only hauled it a couple of miles back to the house.
Initial thoughts:
1. The 2x8 mounted to the frame to support the keel is a little small. I had to shim the boat up with 3 short 2x6s. I will probably add either two more once she is back in the water or maybe go with a 4x6.
2. No good spots to hook the straps too. On both the trailer and the boat.
3. I'm not completely happy with the location of the aft most pads. They seem to be extended too high...maybe I have the boat too far foward on the trailer. I have the center of mass (just aft of the portlight, correct?) about 1/2-ft forward of the axel and she seems pretty good there.
Additionally, I ordered the extendable tongue (10-ft) for launching it myself down the road. Figured the first couple of times a boat yard would be the best bet. It took almost 2-hrs to finally get her on the trailer. The forks on their forklift didn't fit the trailer/boat correctly. The entire process involved 2 forklifts and a set of straps.
Here are some pics if anyone is interested. Again, the trailer was from Trailer-Sailor.com (link below).
