Propeller for CD33
Can anyone tell me what the original prop is for a CD33? Someone put an oversized 3 blader on and it is messed up. I would rather go back to the original design.
Thanks,
Steve

CD 330 Propeller
I don't know if this will help but I jus put a Michigan Wheel 14X10 3 blade MP propeller on my CD330 and it works great. I reach 2950 RPM at full power. The engine is rated for 3000 RPM at full power.

Propeller size
Steve,
With different engines, there is no standard propeller.
You'll need to match your engine/transmission to the prop.
Michigan wheel and other propeller mfg's. will do the math and suggest a prop size for you.
I think the best fixed blades for CD are the Cambell Sail Propeller. I don't have the www handy, but you can google for it.
Best of luck,
mike

props for 33
Steve, I currently have a the original 14/ 11 on Willow but have on order a Cambell Sailor, Neil (west by north enterprises) recommended a 14/9 for my Universal 30 with a Hurth 2:1 transmission.
I'm looking forward to less drag and more power with the new prop. Paul

CD33 Prop
Hi Steve,
Mike is correct - you have to match engine-boat- prop.
Evening Light (CD33 no. 38) was repowered approx. 1992 with a Westerbeke, W27A. The PO had a blade motorboat type that cost a 1/2 a knot boat speed under sail. I replaced it with a Bronze, 2-blade, 14RH10 (1 in. tapered shaft.) I get to hull speed without a problem - am completely satisfied with my sailboat prop

Steve,
We have the original Universal 5424 (24hp) and replaced the prop 2 years ago. The prop shop at the marina where we had Sirius for 3 years selected this prop as the best replacement:
Michigan Wheel Corp. 15R11 Sailer 2-Blade
Here's a link direct to the proper page:

Hope this helps.
