waste holding tank cd30k

Post by mpruhnke »

If anyone wants a engineering drawing for a custom waste holding tank for their cd30 contact me. I just removed my 6 gallon (tiny)original and drafted up this replacement 13+ gallon tank. I am having it fabricated out of aluminum $275. Stainless is $475.

The tank goes under the v-birth behind the water tank.

Aluminum Holding TanK?

Post by bottomscraper »

Our last boat had an aluminum fresh water tank. It had significant corrosion and pin hole leaks after 25 years I personally would not consider aluminum for a holding or fresh water tank.

This article says no metal should be used for holding tanks:

This article says plastic only no aluminum:

CD Holding Tanks

Post by lmiddleton »

I just placed a special order for the KRACOR 19 gal holding tank for my CD 26D with Lewis Marine Supply in Ft. Lauderdale, Fl. It will be fabricated to the original specifications ON FILE with KRACOR (spun welded fittings, fitting holes in the proper places). I could have ordered it directly from KRACOR at about $450 with no wait (that includes special set-up fee for making this tank from its original mold), but Lewis Marine Supply gave me a price of $260. The only hitch is that I have to wait until Lewis places a "stock order" with KRACOR (about 3 weeks from now) and wait a few more weeks for the special run. Howevedr, ordering through Lewis saves me a couple of hundred dollars.

If you call Lewis to get a quote, you should call Debbie Senti at 1-877-767-1245. Usually they don't sell retail, but she seems to be OK with this kind of special order to retail customers. You can view KRACOR's extensive line of tanks at their website and their ordering person, Vickie, is mopst helpful.
