What varnish could i used for the teak inside the boat
Hi,
Today i took off most of the panels of my boat and i wonder what kind of varnish will be best to use for refreshing my old boat.
I plan to sand and varnish with Epiphane Rapid Coat is it a good idea?
We still have plenty of snow but i can't wait anymore i need to do something on my boat.
Thank's
Marc

I use Epifanes High Gloss Clear Varnish on all of the wood on my boat and it looks great. I have had a lot of luck with Epifanes. Nothing beats the look of a real varnish when it is done right. Other products like Cetol are less maintenance, but just don't cut it when comparing looks. The only problem with varnish is the amount of maintenance it requires. Good luck. TIM

Polyurethane
Marc,
I'm sure the varnish would look great, but have you considered using polyurethane for the inside wood as a possibility for lower maintenance?

MinWax Stains
If you want to get a deep, rich color, take a gander at the interior photos on site below. After we stripped everything out of GE during her refit, we decided to use MinWax Bombay Mahoghany Stain. I believe it's Number 380 or 580 (can't remember now and the can is buried in the garage). Anyway, we've had a lot of compliments on the interior finish so we feel justified in using it as compared to a varnish. I love the deep reddish color it gives.
Just one thought.
Good luck!
Thanks

varnish
I refinished the inside of "Cricket" as a winter project 2 years ago. I applied 3 coats of Epiphanes High Gloss then 3 coats of the rubbed effect varnish and it looks great. I also removed everything I could from the boat so I could work in a warmer environment. Good luck with your project.
