I'm looking for opinions as to whether Semco oil is materially better than Te-ka. A can of Te-ka came with the boat and I used it last year. It worked OK, but what do I know, I'm used to varnishing mahogany, got tired of it and bought our CD. I see that Semco is the oil mentioned most often on the BBS.Is there a reason why? I want to try the oil route before I succumb to Cetol, which sounds like varnishing to me.

Re: Teak oils
With all those acres of teak out there, I'm amazed no one has a comment on my earlier post about SEMCO vs other oils. No help?

Re: Teak oils
I am using a Boat Amor Unique teak oil which I was told lasts very well in our northern climate. As this is our first season with the boat I will see how often I need to re oil. The old codger at our marina reckons every month for a proper oil maintenance. Other up here say once in spring, once in the fall.
