I sent my sails away to Sailcare about 6 weeks ago to have them cleaned and reconditioned with resin. They are nearing the end of their useful life and were, to put it simply, limp. Instead of buying new sails, I thought maybe I could stretch their usefulness a couple of more years. They were returned to me two days ago. I am very impressed with the job they did and thought maybe if someone using this message board was thinking of doing the same thing, to go ahead and check out their website http://www.sailcare.com/ .
The sails came back individually boxed. The fabric was almost like new and all stress points were resewn. The sail letters were redone in black sailcloth and a high quality suncover was sewn onto the genoa at the luff and foot. All grommets were polished. Batten pockets were reinforced on the main and the mast tabs were all cleaned and reinforced. All I had to do was add the telltales (If you want, they will install them for you). The cost for cleaning and reconditioning with resin was 85 cents per square foot. Additional repairs needed were summarized and presented to me before the job was begun. I'm excited about using them this coming season.
Sailcare, Inc. is in Ford City, PA. I am not associated with them at all but I'd just like to let you know of their services.

Thanks !
Thanks for your informative post. I've been considering sending off a couple of sails to them. It is reassuring to know of their quality results.Ed Haley wrote: I sent my sails away to Sailcare about 6 weeks ago to have them cleaned and reconditioned with resin.
