For the benefit of board members I wanted to announce that I am pleased to be representing Hood Sailmakers (the Canadian loft), here in the USA. As Hood Sails were standard equipment on many Cape Dory's, Walt has given me permission to post this notice.
If your not aware of it, the Canadian dollar is much lower than our U.S. dollar and the savings on purchases for our Cape Dory's can be substantial.
Til the end of Feb. I am offering any list member an additonal 15% off their sails (both cruising and racing). With our advanced sail software we can quote your sails in just a few minutes, built the way you want.
In addition we carry a full line of roller furling units, in-mast furlers, vangs, Harken fittings and much more. These items come with full mfg. warranty and service. Immediate shipment on items in stock, no duty on sails and our products and services are backed by an 18 year history of serving some of the best sailors in the world.
If you are interested in a quote, please respond to me either at 716.778.9109 directly or to my direct email address: umci@localnet.com

Re: Save money on your next sail plan purchase
Mike,
We may need a ruling from Walt on this question, but here's my thought. I've looked at the Harken catalog and I'm not sure which would be the appropriate sizes for my boat. For example I'd like to redo the mainsheet with hexarachet blocks. But which ones? I'm also not sure what would be the best set up for a traveler on a 28. Maybe you could post recommended items for various sizes CD's. If people buy them from you great, if they buy them from other vendors, that's OK too! What do you thingk Walt, can we do this?

Commercial and info posts
Jerry and the group:
No problem with Mike or anyone answering your question.
Commercial posts are posts which offer something for sale, or tout a vendor, for profit. These are permitted on this board only if the merchandise is original Cape Dory equipment, or otherwise specially tailored for Cape Dorys.
Once we move away from blatant advertisements, anything can be posted that is informative and of interest to CD owners. So if Mike or anyone else wants to post CD information, that's great. General Internet netiquette recognizes that if someone who is in the business posts some information that is helpful and within the discussion matter of a group, then that person is entitled to briefly identify his business in his signature without crossing over the line into being a commercial post.
