I am happy to report that plans for the New England CD Owners rendezvous are progressing well. I have received a commitment from the Point Independence Yacht Club in Onset MA for the weekend of either July 17/18 or July 24/25. They will provide me a firm date within the next month or so. The tentative agenda is for a welcoming breakfast on Saturday morning, followed by a day of sailing / cruising events. I have had over 60 sailboats and 12 power vessels reply with great interest in attending. Saturdays cruising will be followed by a BBQ and presentations by several boating industry representatives. I have tentative commitments from sail, diesel engine and radar manufacturers, as well as a potential representative from Sail magazine. Sunday will begin with a continental breakfast before we head off on our separate ways.
The yacht club has identified 10-15 slips and approximately 30 moorings for our use. I am trying to secure shore accommodations for those folks who will be joining us by land and hope to have the information available soon. If you have not responded with interest to my e-mail address please do so to ensure you are included on the distribution of future updates.
I will try and coordinate contact information for those folks coming from the same areas. I would also appreciate knowing if you can accommodate any additional crew for Saturdays cruise or if you have an extra berth to offer.
The weekend is coming together and looks to be a fun time. Please respond to my e-mail address with any questions or comments.
Please include the following on your replies:
Name
Address

CD Model

Do you anticipate having room for additional crew or a spare berth?
Also indicate if you do not want me to share the above information to fellow CD owners
Thanks to everyone for their offers of assistance. I will definitely be looking for some help as the event date approaches.

Re: New England CD Owners Rendevou - Update
Sitting at computer at 3:l5 am 1/17/99 counting the days before Seashell my CD30 goes back in the water. Eighty one days but who's counting. More to the point. My home port is Mystic Shipyard, Mystic Ct. Is anyone going to the CD owners rendezvous in Maine from the Connecticut area that wouldn't mind a first time cruiser to Maine to tag along. I've been saying that I wanted to travel to Maine for the past ten years this seems to be the ideal opportunity.
Contact me over the internet or phone: day: 860-677-6061 eve: 860-651-7034.
Also travel to Block Island, Vineyard, and Nantucket if interested in rendevous at any of these locations.
Safe sailing and see you on the water.
