You didn't say what size CD you have. I have a CD30 cutter. I purchased a used RVG vane, that came off another CD30 cutter. I understand it was used by that boat's previous owner for many years with great success. Several trips from Connecticut to Bermuda and then to the Bahamas, single-handed. The new owner that I bought it from also reported good success with it, although he didn't have as extensive use of it. He was selling his boat, to move up to a larger boat, and was selling her gear separately.
I haven't had the opportunity to mount it on my boat yet, but hope to do so by summer. I only paid $200 for it. It is very well constructed and is in great shape. So you may consider an RVG. Good luck.
