My Dad just bought Ty Daysailer Hull#9. It is in Excellent condition and a joy to sail! Interestingly, the seating grates are mahogony, not teak, in this boat, and they are a sight to behold.
The boat has old stainless and plastic jib sheet blocks and a main sheet block and cleat that are past retirement age. I'm a 5o5 sailor and would recommend something a little higher performance - say, maybe with some ball bearings - but I couldn't imagine using black plastic Harken Bullet Blocks on such a thing of beauty.
What are people using to upgrade the blocks? Is there anything a bit more attractive - say in brass or bronze - that I could replace these old dogs with?
We have about half a dozen Typhoon's on Carter's Creek in Irvington, Virginia, all beautifully restored or being restored, but nobody has upgraded their blocks.

You might give him a call @ 401.739.1140 and see if he might have what
your looking for. If not he probably would know where.
